Project Highlights
- Improves class-leading fuel efficiency for the current and future engine programmes by providing realistic solutions to the challenge of EU7 emission regulations
- LAtiTuDE delivered significant improvements in fuel economy and CO2 improvements compared with current diesel vehicles
- Re-invigorates the automotive turbocharger supply chain in the UK
- Delivered innovative technologies including; variable geometry turbocharger (a UK first in a premium passenger vehicle), advanced fuel injection optimisation, thermal management and after treatment systems
- Integrates an advanced engine combustion system incorporating cutting-edge fuel injection equipment and controls
- The consortium members delivered collaborative benefits in supporting the UK’s competitiveness and developing skills, innovations and new manufacturing capability throughout the automotive supply chain
- Total project value of £12.5 million with half being funded through the APC
