Senior Appointments at the APC
The Advanced Propulsion Centre UK has confirmed the appointment of two senior executives to lead the organisation on its mission to position the UK as a global centre for low carbon propulsion development and production.
Jon Beasley, Director – Technology and Projects and Garry Wilson, Director – Business Development take up their positions with immediate effect as they transition from their roles as consultants during the APC’s launch phase.
Jon Beasley has more than 27 years experience in the motor industry working for multinational suppliers and on government and industry programmes. He held various leadership roles within GKN including Group Technology Officer and Driveline Chief Engineer for Aston Martin, Daewoo, Ford Europe, Honda, JLR, Mazda and Volvo. He has worked overseas, establishing GKN’s driveshaft manufacturing operation in Thailand. Recently Jon was the Programme Director for the Transport Systems Catapult during the critical start-up phase. At the APC Jon’s key focus is development and management of the projects funded through the competitions, bringing his technical experience of global product development.
Garry Wilson has more than 28 years experience in the automotive industry working for vehicle manufacturers and suppliers. He held various leadership roles within BMW, Land Rover, MG and Rover including Chief Engineer for Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering. He has worked for Roush and Delphi and most recently as a Board member at Torotrak and has experience in all aspects of the motor industry and business functions with predominant experience in powertrain engineering and manufacturing. At the APC, Garry’s key focus is Business Development which includes development of the Hub and Spoke network which will bring together the key technical, regional and specialist skills across the UK.
