Rail Powertrain opportunity – make tracks for £4.5 million competition funding

Organisations with low carbon powertrain technology can now find new markets for their technology in the rail sector. FutureRailway is the organisation which has backing from the government and the rail industry through the Rail Innovation Fund to accelerate innovation in the UK’s railway.

A new £4.5 million funding competition has been announced to develop self-powered rail vehicles focusing on efficiency in powertrain development.

The Advanced Propulsion Centre encourages its partners and stakeholders to explore the opportunity to transfer automotive technology into the rail sector.

The competition opened on Monday 17th November 2014.
