‘Goliath’ solid-state batteries
Ilika is a pioneer in solid–state battery technology, enabling solutions for applications such as industrial IoT, MedTech, EV and consumer electronics. Whilst on our Technology Developer Accelerator Programme (TDAP), Ilika was developing its ‘Goliath’ solid-state batteries for electric vehicles.
Project Highlights
- Formed in 2004 and AIM listed since 2010, Ilika is developing solid-state battery technology at both mm-scale (implantable Medtech) and large format pouch scale.
- Solid-state battery technology offers the promise of greater safety and energy density, higher charge and discharge rates and long cycle life.
- Ilika’s rechargeable solid-state, lithium-ion pouch cell for electric vehicles aims to provide an increased driving range, lighter battery packs and modules, faster charging and longer operational life.
- Our Technology Developer Accelerator Programme (TDAP) helped to develop strategy and business plans including refining market segmentation and targeting, reviewing IP portfolio, communication strategy and NPD process.
