Collaborative R&D Competitions

Cummins – FIRS3T

The technology developed from this project will aim to improve fuel consumption by 15 to 20 percent, in turn resulting in significant CO2 savings. Through this project, Cummins has increased its thermo-dynamic analysis software which will reduce development time for future projects.

GKN – Gyrodrive

This project will develop flywheel technology for use in buses to avoid wasting energy every time a bus stops. The system aims to deliver fuel savings of around 20 per cent, resulting in significant CO₂ savings.
