Automotive Transformation Fund R&D funding opportunities coming soon

Providing support to advance business opportunities and increase confidence in large-scale manufacturing investments in the UK

We’re launching two Automotive Transformation Fund (ATF) Research & Development (R&D) competitions on Monday 3 April 2023, to help businesses progress projects towards industrialisation, by providing support to assess feasibility and help validate readiness for scale-up.

Scale up Readiness Validation 2 (SuRV2)  

Following the success of the first round of SuRV funding last year, this competition will provide further opportunity to validate readiness for scale-up of processes and pilot manufacturing in the UK automotive supply chain. Businesses registered in the UK can apply for a grant between £750,000 and £2 million, from a total funding amount of £11 million.

Feasibility Studies Competition 

Successful applicants will receive funding to produce decision-ready business cases for projects which will develop large-scale manufacturing facilities in the UK automotive industry. Businesses and consortiums registered in the UK can apply for a grant up to the value of £350,000, from a total funding amount of £2 million.
