CBE for APC Chair Prof Robert Dover
Prof Robert Dover, chair of the Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC), has been awarded Commander of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2023 New Year’s Honours List, for services to the automotive industry.
Commenting on his award, Prof Dover, said:
“I am both delighted and humbled by the award of the CBE, having spent over 30 years in the automotive industry as former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Jaguar Cars and Land Rover, and a former Vice-President of the Ford Motor Company and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Aston Martin. I became Chair at the Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC) in 2016.”
“Public recognition for the work that the APC is doing in helping the transformation of the UK’s automotive landscape to a cleaner and greener industrial base, is essential. With the help of Government and the Automotive Council, we have built an amazing team of effective professionals, implementing real change. So far, we have anchored over 50,000 well-paid jobs and removed the equivalent of 12.6 million polluting vehicles from UK roads.”
“With our base inside the University of Warwick campus, we are well placed to work with both the established OEMs and the many start-ups in the region. The future of the automotive industry is exciting and offers real transformation opportunities for the UK.”
