New chairman appointed for the Digital Engineering and Test Centre
The Digital Engineering and Test Centre have proudly announced that Mr David Pearson will be appointed Chairman of the centre’s Advisory Board. The centre, located at the Stratford Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, is home to the Digital Engineering and Test Spoke. The Spoke, one of six research communities appointed by the APC, coordinates a community of common interest around this key strategic technology.
David brings with him a wealth of global business experience from a broad array of companies as well as many years in senior board positions including periods as MD of Sony UK; as CEO of the technology company NXT plc, and as Chairman of several publicly-funded bodies including innovITS.
Commenting on the new appointment, Dr Leslie Lee, Chief Executive at HSSMI said:
David brings with him a deep understanding of international business and his sage guidance will be a great asset to the DE&Tc leadership team. His knowledge of corporate governance, and breadth of experience across technology sectors will help steer the DE&Tc as it establishes its leading position in the emergent area of Digital Engineering in automotive.
The appointment of David will help further develop the Digital Engineering and Test Spoke, and help to support the Spoke Network further. The Spoke community will act as a Centre of Excellence in the key technologies for UK automotive industry. They encompass academia, industry and others working collaboratively together on fundamental R&D research, industrial research and ultimately play a significant part in supporting and understanding upscaling and production development.
