Nissan investment in electric vehicle production in the UK  

The Advanced Propulsion Centre UK very much welcomes this commitment by Nissan to manufacture two new electric vehicle models and expand its North East electric vehicle hub in Sunderland.

Together with the AESC gigafactory and associated battery supply chain, this is another big step towards the transition of the UK automotive industry to zero-emission vehicles. We are pleased the Nissan Technical Centre Europe (NTCE), based in Bedfordshire, will build capability in the UK for Nissan’s electric vehicle and battery development in a new collaborative R&D project, and look forward to announcing more detail about it in due course.
