UK automotive industry starts 2017 on a high

A 7.5% increase in production was recorded in January in comparison to the previous year’s figures, resulting in a total of 147,922 cars manufactured in the UK last month, says the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).

The hunger overseas for UK manufactured vehicles continued to drive the impressive growth with exports figures up by 10.8%, which bring export to a total of 117,916 units.

The Advanced Propulsion Centre aims to continue to boost the UK’s automotive industry by providing support and resources to develop new low carbon technologies.
