Up to £20 million funding for a low carbon automotive future
Our 11th grant funding competition will open on the 6th August. We are happy to announce there will be up to £20 million grant available. We will invest in technologies that support the development of low carbon propulsion technology in the UK and anchor the next-generation supply chain.
For this competition, we will be particularly looking for projects that support the UK’s long-term capabilities and supply chain in the design, build and manufacture of low-emission vehicle technologies. We are also welcoming applications from UK-based R&D projects that will developing technology which significantly reduces carbon dioxide emissions and improves air quality.
Through our first eight funding competitions, we have supported 177 organisations involved in 36 projects. Together, we’ve managed to save 34 million tonnes of CO₂ and create/secure 20,400 jobs in the UK.
Numerous organisations have significantly benefited from working in collaborative projects with the Advanced Propulsion Centre. Steve Morris, Managing Director of Morgan Motor Company, described their project as “a game changer for Morgan that would not have been possible without the support of APC, and the collaboration it has brought to the business”.
